The Tobias Center organizes and co-sponsors a variety of roundtables, lectures, symposia, workshops, and social events throughout the year. Our programming ranges from scholarly convenings to professional trainings for students interested in careers in international development.

Annual Research Symposium
Each December, we host a day-long symposium featuring research presentations by faculty and students who received funding from the Center in the previous year.
Global Development Consultants Showcase
Each December and April, we host a showcase for the Hamilton Lugar Global Development Consultants to present the consulting projects they completed that semester for their external clients.
Research Workshops
Each year, we host one or two research workshops on a rotating topic relevant to international development.
Professional Development Series
Throughout the year, we bring development professionals to IU to provide insights, training, and networking opportunities for students interested in careers in international development.
Special events
Each semester, we host and co-sponsor a range of research talks, panels, and lectures on topics related to international development.
